Dear Families,
Thank you for helping us support and manage the Victorian Government’s directive- that all students who can learn from home must learn from home.
It is important that we continue to recognise and acknowledge the reasons for implementing a remote learning from home platform, this is because having around a million children and their parents in closer contact with teachers and other support staff has the potential to increase cases of coronavirus not just in schools but across the community. By having remote learning, it can contribute to physical distancing and therefore supports efforts to drive transmission down.
For a limited number of students we are providing On-site learning and care. This is available for children of parents who have exhausted all other options for getting supervision of their child– older siblings, carers etc. and cannot work from home.
The attached On-Site attendance form will updated and sent out via compass and uploaded to the schools website each Wednesday for the following week (Wed – Tues).
This form needs to be completed each week and returned via email (edithvale.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au) by midday Friday each week to ensure that your child has been approved a position to be able to be supervised at school.
Please see attached onsite form for Wednesday 29 April – Tuesday 5 May
Each Friday afternoon you will receive a confirmation letter via email to confirm your child’s attendance days for that following week. If you do not receive this confirmation letter we do not have your child registered for onsite supervision for any days on the following week (Monday – Friday).
This is needed each week to ensure adequate staffing on-site can be sourced.
We will be unable to accommodate any students that we do not have on our register.
Supervision will mostly be carried out by a combination of our Integration Staff and Casual Relief Teachers.
The learning program delivered on-site will be the same as the learning program delivered to students undertaking remote learning. Students learning on-site will follow the teaching and learning program provided by their classroom teacher and be required to work independently.
To ensure consistency with physical distancing measures, students and families will not be permitted to congregate before or after school, in classrooms or in the playground and will be required to maintain 1.5 meters between persons as far as is practicable at all times.
Please stay safe, healthy and connected
