A principal plays a key role in creating a school culture that is kind, safe and nurturing for all. By setting clear expectations around respect, inclusion and wellbeing, the principal supports staff to build strong relationships with students and foster a positive learning environment. This involves prioritising student wellbeing alongside learning, supporting staff to respond with care and consistency, and working in partnership with families to ensure every child feels valued, supported and able to thrive.

It is a privilege to be the Principal of such a vibrant, inclusive and community-focused school. Edithvale Primary is a place where students are known, supported and encouraged to achieve their personal best, and where strong partnerships between school and home are highly valued.
We are proud of our welcoming and inclusive community, where every child is supported to feel safe, confident and ready to learn. Our dedicated and passionate staff work collaboratively to provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences, ensuring that each student is challenged, supported and engaged in their learning journey.
At Edithvale Primary, we implement an explicit teaching instructional model, providing clear, structured lessons that support all students to develop strong foundations in literacy and numeracy. This approach, combined with ongoing assessment and targeted support, ensures that every child has the opportunity to experience success.
Our specialist subjects include Visual Arts, Performing Arts including Drama and Music, Robotics, Science, Physical Education and Japanese – all taught by experts in the field aside from the regular classroom teacher program, which includes Literacy, Numeracy and the Humanities subjects.
Equally important is our commitment to student wellbeing. We have a range of wellbeing programs embedded into our curriculum, supporting students’ social, emotional and physical development. Through programs such as Respectful Relationships and School-Wide Positive Behaviour, we aim to create a positive and supportive environment where all students can thrive.
