Science

Questioning, analysing, planning, conducting, evaluating and communicating

Edithvale Primary School is built on quality teaching and learning practices with diverse curriculum opportunities

Science

Our science program inspires curiosity and empowers students to explore the world through hands-on learning. Students actively construct their understanding by engaging in practical investigations and applying key scientific inquiry skills, including questioning, planning, conducting experiments, analysing data, evaluating results, and communicating findings.

Through a rich and engaging curriculum, students develop:

  • A genuine interest in science and a curiosity about the ever-changing world around them
  • A deep understanding of living systems, Earth and space, and the physical and chemical processes that shape our universe
  • Strong scientific inquiry skills, grounded in ethical investigation and evidence-based reasoning
  • Problem-solving skills to make informed, responsible decisions about scientific and technological developments

Science Specialist Teacher – Catherine Grimwade

It’s not the curriculum that we offer that sets us apart...

....it’s the manner in which it’s delivered. Our teachers actively and passionately explore the possibilities of making their teaching practice more innovative, engaging and fun at every turn. This is the single ingredient that drives the most growth in our students.
