Student Leadership
Student leadership
Our student leaders grow into confident communicators, supportive role models, and active contributors to both our school and the wider community.
Student Leadership
Student leadership is an important part of life at Edithvale Primary School, giving students meaningful opportunities to develop confidence, responsibility, and a strong sense of community. Our leadership program encourages students to have a genuine voice in the school while supporting others and helping create a positive and inclusive environment for everyone.
In 2026, 30 students have taken on leadership roles across a range of teams, including two School Captains, four Student Voice leaders, eight House Captains, and sixteen students who make up our Specialist Support Crew and Sustainability Team. Together, they work collaboratively to support school initiatives, strengthen student voice, and contribute to the everyday running of the school.
A highlight of the program is student led event planning. Each term, our leaders work together to plan and run a whole school event, building skills in teamwork, organisation, creativity, and problem solving while helping bring the school community together.
Our leaders also run lunchtime clubs and activities for other students across the school. These clubs provide fun, inclusive opportunities for students to connect, try new things, and build friendships across year levels.
Throughout the year, student leaders take turns hosting assemblies, developing confidence in public speaking and organisation while celebrating the achievements of our students. They also proudly represent the school at community events and local initiatives, acting as ambassadors for our school values both within and beyond the classroom.
Through these experiences, our student leaders grow into confident communicators, supportive role models, and active contributors to both our school and the wider community.
